01Who we are

This policy applies to Music with Monique, LLC, doing business as Monique Arar Studio. We operate the website musicwithmonique.com and provide piano and music theory instruction, online to students worldwide.

You can reach us by email at DrMonique@musicwithmonique.com, or by mail at 10409 Pacific Palisades Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89144, USA.

02The information we collect

Contact information you give us directly: your name, email address, and phone number when you write to us, schedule a call, or begin an inquiry.

Scheduling information collected through Calendly when you book a call, including your name, email address, time zone, and any intake answers you provide.

Student and enrollment information managed through My Music Staff, such as lesson times, attendance, assignment notes, and billing status.

Newsletter information if you subscribe to studio updates through Email Octopus: your email address and basic engagement data, such as whether an email was opened.

The content of emails and messages you send us.

Information about a minor child if you are a parent or guardian inquiring on their behalf — usually the child’s first name, age, and musical background.

Basic technical data when you visit the website, such as browser type, device type, and pages viewed, used only to operate and improve the site.

03How we use the information

Reply to your inquiry and arrange a conversation.

Schedule and deliver calls, consultations, lessons, group classes, and recitals.

Take payment for the Consultation & Placement Lesson and ongoing tuition.

Send service-related email: scheduling changes, lesson information, assessment documents, and account or payment details.

Send studio newsletters and occasional updates only if you subscribed; you can unsubscribe at any time.

Maintain reasonable business, tax, and operational records.

Improve the website and our teaching operations.

We do not run advertising pixels or targeted-advertising tools on this website, and we do not use your information to build advertising audiences.

04Who we share information with

Calendly, for call scheduling (calendly.com/privacy).

Zoom, for lessons, group classes, and recitals held by video (zoom.com/en/trust/privacy). We do not record lessons or classes by default; a recording, photograph, or testimonial is used publicly only with written consent.

My Music Staff, for scheduling, attendance, and studio administration (mymusicstaff.com).

Stripe, for card payments. Stripe collects and stores payment card information directly; we do not store full card numbers (stripe.com/privacy).

Email Octopus, for studio newsletters you have asked to receive (emailoctopus.com/privacy).

Google Workspace, for email and internal records (policies.google.com/privacy).

Legal authorities when required by valid legal process, or to protect rights and safety.

A successor entity in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of the business, in which case this policy will continue to apply.

We do not sell your personal information, and we never share it for anyone else’s marketing.

05How we communicate with you

When you give us your email address, we use it to communicate about your inquiry, lessons, scheduling, and payments, and — only if you subscribed — studio updates. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and we honor unsubscribe requests promptly, within 10 business days at the latest.

We do not send marketing text messages and we do not use automated dialing systems. If you gave us a phone number, we may call about scheduling, your inquiry, or active enrollment, and you can ask us not to call at any time.

06Cookies and analytics

The website uses only the cookies and similar technologies it needs to function, and, where enabled, simple privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate usage of the site.

We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies or pixels. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

07How long we keep information

Inquiry information from prospective students who do not enroll is kept for up to 24 months from the last contact, then deleted unless a limited record is needed for legal or suppression purposes.

Student records are kept while the student is active and for up to 7 years afterward, primarily for tax, payment, and continuity records.

Newsletter subscriber lists are kept while you are subscribed and removed within 30 days of unsubscribing; a minimal suppression record may be kept so you are not re-added accidentally.

Payment and tax records are kept as required for accounting and legal purposes.

08Your rights and choices

You may ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct information that is wrong, ask us to delete information we no longer need, and unsubscribe from marketing email at any time.

Residents of California and other U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws have additional rights where those laws apply, including the right to know, access, delete, and correct personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Because we do not sell personal information or run targeted advertising, no sale or sharing opt-out is required.

To exercise a privacy right, email DrMonique@musicwithmonique.com. We will respond within 30 days, with the option to extend by another 30 days for complex requests, and we will verify your identity before fulfilling a request, usually by confirming the email address we have on file.

We do not use personal information for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

09How we protect information

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the personal information we hold. We work with reputable vendors and limit access to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but if we become aware of a data incident that legally requires notice, we will notify affected individuals and/or authorities as required by applicable law.

10Children’s information

Lessons for children are taught only to students aged 10 and over, and inquiries about minors must come from a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe we may have collected information directly from your child under 13, contact us at DrMonique@musicwithmonique.com and we will delete it.

11Updates to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent version. If we ever add advertising tools or new services that change how information is handled, this policy will be revised before those changes take effect.
